1975
Rick and Jody Vernal started RT Vernal Paving Inc. in 1975 and initially began providing the Mahoning County market with asphalt paving services. In its early years, RT Vernal Paving focused its services on residential driveways and smaller paving projects while steadily gaining a reputation for high quality workmanship and a full dedication to its clients' needs. In 1983, the company built its office location in North Lima, OH, which serves as company headquarters to this day.
1985
As RT Vernal Paving's reputation and strong business relationships grew, so did the project opportunities. In order to offer a more complete and quality site package to its customers, the company acquired Wurster Excavating in 1985 and changed its name to RT Vernal Paving & Excavating, Inc. This important acquisition enabled the company to expand and diversify its services to include site-work and land development, clearing, underground utilities and drainage work, major road excavation, and more.
1994
The expansion of services by RT Vernal Paving & Excavating led to rapid growth during the early 90's. The company built Tri-County Asphalt Materials Inc in 1994 to become a quality asphalt materials supplier for the local market. Tri-County Asphalt Materials Inc is a batch plant equipped with a fully staffed laboratory in order to design state-approved asphalt along with customized asphalt mixes. Our material batching capabilities enable us to serve a multitude of clients with a variety of material needs throughout the day, while minimizing wait-time. We also provide material trucking to our clients, if needed.

Today, we are involved in a wide variety of development projects in the Northeast OH, Western PA and Northern WV markets. We strive to deliver a higher quality project each time we serve our clients.
